Often Dump trucks positions in  Western Australia are advertisied in the local newspaper which is a good source of mining jobs. Increasingly positions are advertisied on popular job sites on the internet. There is also positions advertised on the actual companies website which can be snapped up before the need to go to the press. This is the same with cold calling and can be applied to any job area. Majority of jobs don’t even reach the newspapers or internet sites as the positions are taken up by people before the need to adveritise the position. Often these people live in the mining camp itself and want or need change of career. Then its often people working in the mining industry arranging jobs for there friends that want to enter the mining industry for the first time.

If you don’t have dump truck experience I would not bother applying. This is not so true, Its take time to build up your experience and trustworthy in your company before you are moved to a more isolated area where you can make six figure salaries.

Its actually one of the most boring jobs out there in the mining industry in Australia. The first few months its fun but the novelty wears off quickly and you spend all day driving up and down a pit and maybe making 5 cycles during the day.
