Mining Requirments
To successfully get a job in the mining
industry in Australia you first have to decide on which state you want to work in.
Western Australia and Queensland are the two mining states in Australia and they both have different
requirements for people entering the industry.
Most Western Australian Mines Require:
1. Marcsta which is a general induction to Mining operations and safety. This cost around $140

2. Senior First Aid Certificate from either St Johns or the Red Cross organisation. If you have
a basic first aid certificate don't worry 9 times out of ten they will still accept you and later they may arrange
with you to update it.
3. HR Drivers licence mining required is a Manual Car licence.
4. Mine workers Health Surveiallnce Card. This is a general health assesment carried out
by a Western Australian Doctor. Its a basic assesment of you health and its completed every 5 years to check that
your mining occupation is having harsh effect on your health.
5. Police Clearance this is now done at your local poste office. If you are from out of state
you should obtain your police clearance from the state you come from.
